Autumn's first Easter

Our first holiday was great :) Gramma & Grampa Kellogg came across from Victoria to celebrate with us. We ate like royalty all weekend and I even survived a glass of wine without crazy raging heartburn...We even had turkey taco salad for lunch yesterday...And turkey soup for dinner. Oh, the things you can do with leftovers!! Delicious!! Autumn was in a feeding frenzie on Saturday, she nursed for nearly two straight hours...So needless to say, I was in bed immediately after dinner. Breastfeeding really tuckers a person out! But my girl is getting quite chubby now, so it's clearly paying off. Squirrel now has wrist rolls and thigh rolls. Cute and pinchable. I'm looking forward to our visit with Dr. Hadad tomorrow so we can see how much weight the little porker has packed on. I wouldn't be shocked if she's over 8lbs now. She really feels heavy on my arm :)
Here's a peek at our weekend. I hope you all had a great Easter feast & good times with your families.

We had our six week postpartum visit with Dr. Whitehill today...She's the OB who delivered the squirrel. I love her!!! She was super happy to see Autumn, which was nice since we kinda get rushed in and out at the ped's office as Dr. Hadad is super busy all the time. Today kinda felt like a visit with an old friend. Anyway, Dr. Whitehill is very pleased with how my tummy has healed and I've been given the go-ahead to exercise! I can't wait to get back to the swimming pool :)
Next week, we will be seeing Dr. Hadad again. It's been a few weeks so hopefully he will be able to give Autumn the go-ahead to fly so that we can head East to Toronto for a visit. Fingers crossed, people! :)

I could eat her cheeks!

Tomorrow is 4/20...Autumn's supposed due date...Her last weigh-in measured her at 7lbs 5oz and 51cm in length...That was Friday. If she was still growing in the belly, I don't doubt she'd be nearly 10lbs. Imagine that...I'm the beanpole of the century, so that would have been a very interesting labour and delivery. Hmm...
Anyway...
We are really looking forward to our date with mamas Tanis & Karina and babies Memphis & Ryker. Lots of fun to be had tomorrow!!

Prince John

Right?!

hehehe :)

piglet?

Who knew newborn babies were such noisy sleepers? They snort and grunt and gurgle...Between the squirrel, her daddy and Elliott, I feel like I'm rooming with a family of yetis. Actually, squirrels snorts and grunts keep Teddy up as well and he has started to call her "the piglet".
Baby continues to grow bigger and stronger. I'd guess she's over 7lbs now as she's really starting to feel heavy on my arm. I'm going to have some serious pipes by the time this little girl is done nursing. She's been eating so much over the last few days, I feel like I always have a boob out. Kinda crazy. Great, though, cause the squirrel is really starting to fill out. She's growing some neck and wrist rolls and a tiny little double chin. Super cute and squishy.
We took a bus ride on Saturday over to the drive to visit Auntie Reegee and some of the squirrel's other pals. Regan gave Autumn a lovely stuffed squirrel and another adorable little squirrel ornament. They are on display in baby's room <3 Obviously a squirrel's room was incomplete without some squirrel stuff :)
Here are some pictures of our visit:
Tico was very happy to see Teddy

Regan is a good snuggler

Lindsay "bundo" Bates is super good with babies and squirrel went right to sleep on his shoulder

Lovely Miss Kara <3

This Thursday, Autumn will be 6 weeks old which means that we are being discharged from Midwife care. We have our final appointment on Friday afternoon. I'll miss those ladies. They have been really awesome. Lots of love for Commercial Drive Midwives. xoxox
Here are a few more pictures from the last few days. We haven't been up to very much since Autumn won't go much longer than two hours without eating. Yesterday, it took me two hours from the time I got out of the shower, to get dressed. Gooooood times ;)
Angry Squirrel wants her soose.

She reminds me of Prince John from Disney's Robin Hood...Once the soose is in, she brings her little hands up to her face...sometimes, she'll even hold her ear. So funny...

Prince John...With the ear-grab.

She is the best.

Ever Growing

Today, Autumn and I had our second  postpartum mama club meeting at the midwives' clinic. Baby Squirrel now weighs 6lbs, 12oz. What a little piggy. She was still the littlest babe at the meeting though, despite being the oldest. Progress is progress though...On Monday, our girl weighed 6lbs, 8oz so I'm feeling really good about her size. It's been a big couple of days for maturing as well. I've noticed that the squirrel really pays attention when we talk to her and will happily focus on her toys for long periods of time. She's not quite so floppy anymore either...She's getting really good at holding up her tiny little acorn head and will turn towards sounds and movement as well. She's so clever :)
We also just enjoyed a lovely visit with Auntie Emily who flew in from Toronto for a few days to snuggle and smooch the fuzzy squirrel. She was a very good house guest...She cooks and bakes and she even scrubbed our toilet. Lovelovelovvve that gal.

Cute little seesterface

It was a really great week for my little seester to visit since Daddy Smooth had an ultra busy week with work and the extra set of helping hands around the house was really welcome. Teddy's radio show celebrated their 2nd anniversary on Tuesday. If you like things that are awesome and funny, you should have a listen to CabaRadio. Good stuff.
Here are a few more pictures:

It is absolutely beautiful outside. Time for a little java in the sunshine.
